Log #1: Launch Day | 4/8/2021

Today marks the official day that Moonwarden was released to the public for the very first time! So exciting!

Solomon, Julius, and I all poured our heart and soul into this game, and it feels great to see it published and out in the wild. It's like releasing rehab animals or something; seeing your work go into fixing something or making something great then letting it out into an environment where it'll flourish. So poetic.

This game started as a 2 week project for our game development course at Wake Tech, where we had to test our game-making skills and try and come up with an original game idea on our own. The only instructions we had to conform to was: it can't be a shooter game and it had to be an Action game. We wanted to be unique, so brainstormed and eventually came up with a game that had similar mechanics to Ninja Painter, or that one spiky ball upgrade from Geometry Dash. We liked it so much, we decided to go ahead and release it, just to see where the wind would take us. Now here we are, finally ready to release. Feels good.

Of course, we plan on updating this game even further, but it'll stay free until it feels like an actual game you can play through and through again. We may not even make it a paid product; seems a little ambitious for a group of students to make their first game paid, no?

Hopefully during the Summer we'll have a chance to keep working on the game to improve it, before the college year starts for all of us.

Thanks for reading, and we hope you enjoy the game!
